Ameen Sayani rose to fame and popularity with her hit show Binaca Geetmala on the airwaves of Radio Ceylon.His way of addressing the crowd with 'Behno aur Bhaiyo' (meaning 'sisters and brothers') is still treated as an announcement with a melodic touch. As of 1951, he produced and hosted (or spoke) his over 54,000 radio shows and his 19,000 spots/jingles.This fact is recorded in the Limca register.
